GAUGE: 10 sts and 14 rows = 4" with larger needles.

BACK
With smaller needles, cast on 44 (48, 52, 58) sts. Work 2 rows in Garter st. Change to larger needles and continue in St st. Work even in St st until piece measures 14 1/2" from beg end with WSR.

LEFT FRONT
With smaller needles, CO 24 (26, 28, 31) sts. Work 2 rows in Garter st. Change to larger needles. Next row (RS): K across. Next row (WS): K3 (front button band), P to last st, K1 (edge st). Cont as establish in St st for the body, Garter st for the front button band until piece measures 14 1/2" from the beg, eding with a WSR.

SLEEVES
With smaller needles, CO 26 (28, 30, 31) sts. Work 2 rows in Garter st. Change to larger needles and cont in St st. Next RS row: Inc 4 sts evenly spaced across - 30 (32, 34, 35) sts. Inc 1 st each edge every 4 (4, 4, 3 1/8)" 2 (2, 2, 3) times - 34 (36, 38, 41) sts. Work even until piece measures 12" from beg, ending with a WSR.

Designer Notes:
After the short row section (Rows 1-20) is completed, hide all the wrap strands by working up to the first wrapped st.

Find the wrap strand at the base of the st, pick up the wrap strand from the bottom up and then knit into the back of the wrapped st on the ndl.

Knit the strand and the st tog.

TOTE (make two pieces):
Using an invisible CO method, CO 23 sts.
Row 1: K20, WT.
Row 2: K.
Row 3: K18, WT.
Row 4: K.
Row 5: K16, WT.
Row 6: K.
Row 7: K14, WT.
Row 8: K.
Row 9: K12, WT.
Row 10: K.
Row 11: K10, WT.
Row 12: K.
Row 13: K8, WT.
Row 14: K.
Row 15: K6, WT.
Row 16: K.
Row 17: K4, WT.
Row 18: K.
Row 19: K2, WT.
Row 20. K.
Row 21: Knit the row, hiding each wrap strand as you K it (see Designer Notes above) -
             23 sts on your ndl at the end of the row.
Row 22: K.

Rep Rows 1-22 eight more times. BO. Work another piece for the second side of the tote.
