Ruffles & Ridges Purse

GAUGE:
Gauge is not essential.

BODY: With A, CO 30 sts. Work in garter st for 14 in. BO. Sew side seams.
Flap: With A, pick up 6 center back sts for flap. Work in garter st for 3 in.
Buttonhole row: K 2, k2tog, yo, k 2. Work 2 more rows in garter st. BO.

Flap Ruffle (make 2): With 1 strand each of A and B held tog, CO 25 sts. P 1 row, k 1 row, p 1 row. Next row: K, inc 1 st in each st — 50 sts. P 1 row, k 1 row, p 1 row. Next row: K, inc 1 st in each st — 100 sts. P 1 row, k 1 row, p 1 row. Next row: K, inc 1 st in each st — 200 sts. P 1 row. Next row: K2tog across row — 100 sts. BO.

Side Ruffle (make 2): With 1 strand each of A and B held tog, CO 20 sts. P 1 row, k 1 row, p 1 row. Next row: K, inc 1 st in each st — 40 sts. P 1 row, k 1 row. Next row: K, inc 1 st in each st — 80 sts. P 1 row, k 1 row, p 1 row. Next row: K, inc 1 st in each st — 160 sts. P 1 row. Next row: K2tog across row — 80 sts. BO.

FINISHING: Attach side ruffles to sides of purse with crochet slip st. Attach flap ruffles to back flap at top. Attach second flap ruffle from top on both sides, pulling middle down under flap. Attach ruffles so they lay well or tack in place.

2, 500 gm/98 yds balls of Karabella Aurora 8 (100% wool) in red (A)
1, 50 gm/220 yd skein of Plymouth Yarn Dazzlelash (78% polyester, 22% rayon) (B)
One pair of knitting needles in size 8 U.S.
One set of Bamboo purse handles

Bling Bling Cable Relief Purse

GAUGE
4 sts = 1 in. with Berroco BLING in St st.

PATTERN STITCH
Cable Pattern (worked on 32 sts):
Row 1 (RS): K.
Row 2: P.
Row 3: K 1, cable front on 10 sts (sl 5 sts onto cn and hold in front, k 5, k 5 from cn), *k 5, cable front on 10 sts, k next 6 sts.
Rows 4-8: Beg with a p row, work in St st.
Row 9: K 6, cable back on 10 sts (sl 5 sts onto cn and hold in back, k 5, k 5 from cn), k 5, cable back on 10 sts, k next st.
Rows 10-12 Beg with a p row, work in St st.
Rep Rows 1-12 for cable pat.

BODY: CO 52 sts.
Row 1 (RS): K 10, place marker (pm), follow cable pat Row 1 on next 32 sts, pm, k 10. Cont as est working first 10 and last 10 sts in St st and 32 sts in center in cable pat until piece meas 16 in. from beg. BO.
Side Panels: With RS facing, pick up 30 sts along side of Body. Work in St st for 6 rows. BO. Work same along other side of Body.

FINISHING: Sew side panels leaving 1 in. open at top. Attach handles using B. If desired, line bag with 1⁄4 yd of fabric.
Butterfly Loom: Make 1 panel using B. Use for purse attachment.
Sew on decorative button for clasp.

2, 50 gm/92 yd balls of Berroco Bling (60% cotton, 38% acrylic, 2% aluminum) (A)
1, 50 gm/80 yd skein of Crystal Palace’s Deco Star Dust Ribbon (55% metallic fiber/45% nylon) (B)
One pair of knitting needles in size 9 U.S. OR SIZE REQUIRE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
