| Pufrrfectly Catchy Purrfectly Catchy Designs (309) 343-5323 • www.purrfectlycatchydesigns.com Sock blockers from Purrfectly Catchy Designs are the cat’s meow. They’re made one at a time by John C. Chapman, and each pair is hand cut. The process is painstaking, as each blank is cut from specially ordered wood. The finely detailed designs located at the top of the leg are cut with a scroll saw—no computerized or digitalized cutting is involved. Sanding and sealing involve multiple steps, and both sides are sealed so the finished blockers won’t warp. With reasonable care, you’ll get a lifetime of use out of the blockers. When they’re not blocking socks, they‘ll make a great addition to your home décor, as you’ll find a convenient hole at the top for easy hanging. There is a wide variety of styles available, including the map of Australia, breed-specific dogs, bunnies, geckos, rams, awareness ribbons, and more. These blockers are available in three sizes: small, medium, and large. The website will help you determine the right size blocker to purchase. |

| Glimakra Glimakra-USA, LLC www.glimakrausa.com We previously reviewed Glimakra’s 13.5” wide table loom (see Knit ‘N Style December 2008), called the Emilia, and are pleased to report that, by popular request, the company now offers a new, wider Emilia model—measuring in at a generous 18” wide. This new size is perfect for table runners, placemats, wider scarves, blanket panels, small tapestries, fabric for garments, and other projects. This particular one is easy to set up and stores in minimal space. As with knitting, weaving requires no electricity and a table loom is quite portable. Simply clamp the loom to a table while you’re working (two clamps are provided for the 18” width). The Emilia looms are affordable, easy to use, and high quality, with the same solid construction for which all Glimakra looms are known. Everything is in the box: thorough instructions, loom, warping peg, tools, clamps, and beam cords. Just add warp and weft fiber and weave! |
