Slip stitch pulloverA lovely transitional sweater in Coast & Clark`s Amore and Lagoon Print in a two-tone slip stitch pattern.

KNITTED MEASUREMENTS

  • Finished Bust: 35 (38, 41,44, 47) in.
  • Back Length: 23 (24, 24 1/2, 25, 25 1/2) in.

MATERIALS

  • 2 (2, 3, 3, 3), 6 oz/290 yd skeins of Coats & Clark Amore in Celery #3625 (A)
  • 3 (3, 4, 4, 4), 6 oz/290 yd skeins in Lagoon Print #3995 (B)
  • One pair each knitting needles in sizes 6 and 8 U.S. OR SIZE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
  • Stitch markers





GAUGE

17 sts and 32 rows = 4 in. with Coats & Clark AMORE and larger ndls in SI St pat.

NOTES

  • 1. For fully-fashioned decs, on RSRs: K 2, ssk, work across in pat as est until 3 sts rem in row, end row with k2tog, k 1; on WSRs, p 1, p2tog, work across in pat as est until 3 sts rem in row, end row with p2tog tbl, p 1.
  • 2. For fully-fashioned incs, work 1 st, M1, work across until 1 st rem in row, end row with M1, work last st.

Row 1 (RS): With В, k 1, *sl next st wyib, k 1; rep from * across.

Row 2: With В, k 1, *sl next st wyif, k 1; rep from * across.

Row 3: With A, knit.

Row 4: With A, purl.

Row 5: With B, k 2, *sl next st wyib, k 1 ; rep from * across, ending row with k 1.
Row 6: With B, k 2, *sl next st wyif, k 1 ; rep from * across, ending with k 1.
Rep Rows 1 -6 for SI St pat.

BACK

With smaller ndls and A, CO 68 (73, 79, 84, 90) sts. Work garter st for 6 rows, inc 7 (8, 8, 9, 9) sts evenly across last row-75 (81,87, 93, 99) sts. Change to larger ndls and Slip St pat.
Work even until piece meas approx 14 1/2 (15 1/4, 15 1/2, 15 1/2, 15 1/2) in. from beg, ending with a WSR.
Shape arm-holes: Cont in pat as est, BO 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows. BO 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Work fully-fashioned decs each side every row 0 (0, 0, 0, 2) times, then EOR 1 (3, 8, 10, 11) times, then every 4th row 2 (2, 0, 0, 0) times – 57 (59, 59, 61,61) sts rem. Cont even until piece meas approx 21 (22, 22 1/2, 23, 23 1/2) in. from beg, ending with a WSR.
Shape neck: Next row (RS): Work across first 14(15, 15, 16, 16) sts, join second skein of yarn and BO center 29 sts, work to end of row. Work both sides at once with separate skeins of yarn until piece meas approx 22 (23, 231/2, 24, 241/2) from beg, ending with a WSR. Shape shoulders: BO 4 sts at beg of next 6 rows. BO 2 (3, 3, 4, 4) sts at beg of next 2 rows.

FRONT

Work same as Back until piece meas approx 19 (20, 20 1/2, 21, 21 1/2) in. from beg, ending on a WSR.
Shape neck: Next row (RS): Work across first 14(15, 15, 16, 16) sts, join second skein of yarn and BO center 29 sts, work to end of row. Complete same as Back.

SLEEVES

Change to larger ndls and SI St pat. Inc 1 st each side every 10th row 0 (0, 0, 2, 13) times, every 12th row 1 (8, 0, 9, 0) times, then every 14th row 8 (2, 9, 0, 0) times – 61 (63, 65, 69, 73) sts. Cont even until piece meas approx 17 1/2 (171/2, 18, 18, 18) in. from beg, ending with a WSR.
Shape cap: BO 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Work fully-fashioned decs each side every 4th row 0 (0, 1, 1,0) times, EOR 15 (18, 18, 20, 23) times, then every 3rd row 3 (1, 1, 1, 1) times – 17 sts rem. BO 2 sts at beg of next 4 rows – 9 sts rem. BO.

FINISHING

Sew left shoulder seam.
Neckband: With RS facing, smaller ndls and A, beg at right shoulder edge and PU and k 9 sts along right back neck edge, placemaker (pm), PU and k 1 st in corner, pm, PU and k 26 sts along back of neck, pm, PU and k 1 st in corner, pm, PU and k 7 sts to left shoulder seam, PU and k 9 sts along left front neck edge, pm, PU and k 1 st in corner, pm, PU and k 26 sts along front neck edge, pm, PU and k 1 st in corner, pm, PU and k 9 sts to right shoulder edge – 86 total sts around neckline.

Next row (WS): *K across to next marker, sl marker, p 1, sl marker; rep from * 3 more times, ending row with k sts along right back neck edge to right shoulder.

Next row (RS): *K across to 2 sts before next marker, ssk, sl marker, knit corner st, sl marker, k2tog tbl; rep from * 3 more times, ending row with k sts along right front neck edge to right shoulder. Rep last 2 rows until band meas approx 1 in. from beg. BO. Sew right shoulder seam, including side of neckband. Set in Sleeves. Sew Sleeve and side seams.
